Join us for a free concert at the York City Auditorium (612 North Nebraska Avenue) on February 17th at 1PM.
Special guest, the 1st Nebraska Volunteers Brass Band, will be wearing Union infantry uniforms while playing musical arrangements from the Civil War on authentic Civil War-era instruments. This performance will also include a narration sharing Civil War stories.
This 15-member musical ensemble, based out of Omaha, represents the original 1st Nebraska Volunteer Infantry Regiment from 1861-1862 and has performed at several events and festivals, keeping alive the wonderful heritage of Civil War music and brass bands. Several members in the group hold graduate degrees in music.
